Everything You Need To Know About My Spring Skincare Must Have

The MOST important skincare product you have to have.

This post contains affiliate links. If you shop via a link marked with an '*' I may earn a small commission. As transparent as I like our beauty products to be, I will always do the same for you. I only ever recommend products that I love and use and will never promote a brand that isn't cruelty-free or that I don't believe in. Thanks :)

There is a product out there that acts as a magical shield, keeping our skin healthy and youthful by protecting it against even the most giant powerful source of energy -the sun. That's right, SPF. If we are lucky enough to enjoy the beautiful weather we had last year during lockdown, the sun will surely be beating down on our faces, so now is the time to get adding SPF into your skincare routine if you don't already.

Think of SPF as your anti-ageing shield; a premature eraser for wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin. SPF protects the skin from environmental damage and radiation from the sun (UVA and UVB). If you haven't been using SPF yet, don't worry, now is a great time to start. There are some great key ingredients to add to the skincare routine that will help to reverse the damage caused by the SPF-free years, which I will be sharing in one of my next posts so keep watch.

If you want to go a step further, drink Dandelion tea! Dandelion leaf and flower extracts protect against UVB damage by suppressing ROS generation (oxygen-containing reactive species) and MMP activities (Matrix metalloproteinases).

As one of my favourite times of the year, I tend to have an internal and external spring clean - whether I planned to or not, I always seem to have a good refresh and clear out. As the flowers begin to blossom - we do too. From housework to swapping out items in my wardrobe, starting a new workout plan because the new Year resolutions faded into the background, and updating my beauty regimen. It's a motivating time and a great chance to reflect on what's been working and what can be changed for a better quality of life. Below are a few products I recommend. Cruelty-free of course.

This is my favorite SPF face cream so far. It's also great for a makeup kit as it leaves no white cast whatsoever, meaning it works on all skin tones. It has a gel-like feel, therefore is super lightweight on the skin - perfect for Spring. The formula is very impressive with key ingredients such as Adenosine, Panthenol, Beta-Glucan, Sea Buckthorn Oil and Niacinamide (a favourite of mine) to even out skin tone and hydrate. I use Niacinamide under my eyes every day to hide the fact that I sleep very little since my baby is teething.

I absolutely love this brand and would confidently recommend so many of their products (which you will likely see in my future posts). This cream although lightweight leaves my skin glowing- a great one for dry skin (like mine). It's also fragrance-free so doesn't cause any irritation. As the name suggests, It’s loaded with beetroot extract to add antioxidants. This is a great one for new SPF users as the antioxidants help to reduce past damage from sunburn.

This is a mineral-based Vegan suncream with no white cast - probably the least I've found (great for ALL skin tones). It feels lightweight on the skin and is again fragrance-free which is always a winner. It's packed with Squalene( a great ingredient worth all the hype it has), which is made from 100% plant-derived, renewable sugarcane. It locks in moisture and hydrates although again it feels so smooth and lightweight.

This product is great for adding to your usual skincare routine. You can incorporate these weightless drops at any stage of your regime, before, during or after you've applied your serums, lotions and potions. It can easily be added into your moisturiser meaning if you've found a moisturiser that suits your skin perfectly, you don't have to change it up. These drops promise to bring the ultimate pollution defence to your skin, fighting urban pollutants such as free radicals and heavy metals. They're also vegan, cruelty-free, and paraben-free (ofcourse).

I hope to see you all in 20 years time looking just as you do today.
